Ready for the new Messenger? Microsoft just released the first beta version of MSN Messenger 7 to its beta testers and ofcourse, we have it ready for download for you!

The Build number of MSN Messenger 7 is 7.0.0332 and it weighs at about 9.9 MB.

Features:

Winks: Winks allow you to send kisses, hearts and all sorts of silly cartoons to your contacts.

Nudge: Nudge allows you to send a "shake" to your contact. Both your own and your contacts MSN Messenger window will shake, much like how Internet Explorer windows shake using the correct javascript.

Download packs: Download packs will allow users to grab winks/emoticons/display pictures and backgrounds straight from MSN. As these currently don't work we were unable to test them.

CDex is an application that records audio tracks from CDs and saves them to a disk as regular WAV files or as encoded sound files. This program features an MP3 decoder (MPEG 1/2/3-based) and a new LAME encoder, and has built-in support to generate OGG Vorbis files. CDex is available in English, German, Italian, and Spanish. This latest release includes language updates and various bug fixes.

While most commercial audio software leans toward all-in-one suites, freeware CDex focuses instead on performing one main task as efficiently as possible. Extracting digital music files from CDs becomes simple, quick, and painless. CDex also offers enough advanced options for converting between formats to satisfy the serious digital music fan.
The main interface is very clean, with a CD track listing, album information, and buttons that perform major functions such as ripping, converting, CDDB lookup, and configuration. CDex includes 12 different compressed file encoders, including MP3, AAC, WMA, APE, and OGG, and also supports any external encoders.

The Profile feature stores personal configuration settings, and a bare-bones media player is a welcome inclusion. Because the program has a lot of configuration options, new users may feel intimidated. Basic functions are easily mastered, however, and well-written help files will guide anyone through the more advanced options.

The installation includes support for English, Spanish, German, and Italian languages, and many more are available from the Web site. Indeed, by all rights, the free and easy CDex should go global.

The playback and playlist functions are similar to other popular free media players, and almost all are assigned reasonably memorable hot keys. An included stream recorder is a very nice touch, but you can't bookmark favorite URLs. And although Quintessential includes the mandatory CDDB support, you'll need to find your own library plug-in to manage your digital music.

An integrated skin browser lets you download new looks without leaving the application. The community of skin designers is much smaller than Winamp's, but there are already some classics available. For a fully functional audio player that looks fantastic, it's hard to beat Quintessential Player.

The rise of comparable competitors and the dominance of the Kazaa community left this P2P pioneer searching for a new identity. Like 3.0, this latest release banks most of that hope on its integrated content, but the limited selection and nonexclusive downloads leave us wanting more.

Version 3.1 doesn’t break much new ground. Although the media player is cleaner and has a few more functions, it and the playlist still reside in a framed window that doesn’t scroll sideways. If you like your windows small, your playback options are limited to a handful of right-click commands (if you can still see the playlist).

The tabbed search looks a little cleaner than before, and the Narrow Search real-time filter is a nice touch. Results and download success are comparable to other Gnutella clients. The required third-party software (MySearch Bar, WURLD Media) is irritating, but there’s no flood of adware as with some P2P clients.

Version 3.0 users should feel no need to upgrade. In fact, all of the documentation, including the company’s Web site and the program’s title bar, still refer to it as 3.0. Morpheus still searches, downloads, and shares well, but doesn’t distinguish itself in its field of competitors.

Another DVD Ripper on the market for backing up DVD's that you already own to your hard disk :)

This one convert DVDs to VCD (MPEG1), SVCD(MPEG2), AVI, and DivX(MPEG4) formats so you can then save them to your PC's hard drive and burn them onto CD's

The limitation in the demo is a 50 percent conversion limit which should be enough for you to decide if you want to part with $35.00 for the full version. If you try this let me know what you think..
